Ryan Rogers Samaritan Fund
St. Joseph’s College of Maine

Ryan was offered a position as a Volunteer Assistant Coach on the SJC Men’s Basketball team in July of 2017. He accepted a Graduate Assistant Coach position the following two years while he earned his Masters (with honors) in Business Leadership.

In 2020 he was hired as an admissions officer while continuing into his 4th season as an assistant coach. Ry was known, admired, and respected by the players, the coaches, the faculty, and the administration. He was truly and fully embraced as a member of the St. Joe’s family. The countless stories and heartfelt testimonies that flowed during his illness and after his passing served as the impetus to establish a scholarship fund at the college.

The Ryan Rogers Samaritan Fund was established to support students in need of financial assistance, to seek to broaden the diversity of the student body, and to promote a spirit of volunteerism and community service among the grant recipients. As of November of 2024, over $365,000 has been raised, facilitating scholarships to be awarded to 6 students in the fall of 2021, 9 students in 2022, 11 students in 2023, and 13 students in 2024.
